Who We Are

Sparkz.Space is operated by Tutorpeers LLC (dba. EdSpan Global), based in New York, USA. We create learning tools that use conversational AI to help students think, explore, and grow. You can reach us at support@sparkz.space.

1. What Sparkz Does

Sparkz is a learning companion that offers text and voice chat, helps students upload and discuss schoolwork, and hosts optional live avatar sessions. Sparkz is available directly to students ages 13 and older or through schools and pilot programs that work with EdSpan Global.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to run the service safely and effectively:

  • Account details: name and email address
  • Learning activity: messages, voice chats, and uploads used during learning tasks
  • Device information: browser, operating system, IP region (city/area only)
  • Feedback: ratings or short surveys

We do not collect government IDs, biometric data, or precise location.

3. How Information Is Used

We use information to:

  • Provide and improve learning features
  • Keep accounts secure and fix technical issues
  • Support schools with learning insights (never personal analytics)
  • Send service notices or updates
  • Comply with school agreements and data-protection laws

We never sell information or use student data for advertising.

4. How Long We Keep Data
  • Chats and voice sessions disappear when a new session starts; summaries stay in the app until you or your school delete the account.
  • Uploads stay until the user deletes them or the account closes.
  • Basic account info (name and email) remains while the account is active, then is erased within 60 days.
  • Analytics are stored only in aggregated, non-identifiable form.
5. Who Can See the Data

Only trusted service providers working under strict contracts help us deliver Sparkz. These include:

DigitalOcean or AWS (hosting), OpenAI (AI chat), AssemblyAI and ElevenLabs (speech tools), Pinecone (database), Recall (avatars), Google (sign-in and analytics), and Software Arrows (support).

Schools can access student data they manage. No one else can.

6. Your Rights

Students, parents, and educators can:

  • Ask to see or correct their information

  • Request deletion

  • Control uploads and chat history

Schools may act on behalf of students under FERPA. Parents of younger learners should contact the school directly.

7. Safety and Security

All data is encrypted in transit and protected with strong technical safeguards. If a breach ever occurs, we investigate immediately and notify affected parties within 24 hours.

8. Children’s Privacy

Sparkz is for ages 13 and up. For school-based pilots involving younger students, participation happens only with verified school or parental consent in line with COPPA and FERPA.

9. Accessibility

We want Sparkz to be usable by everyone. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on the site or in the app, please email support@sparkz.space and we’ll work to resolve them quickly.

10. Responsible AI

Sparkz follows clear ethical principles:

  • AI interactions are transparent and monitored
  • Content filters prevent harmful or biased responses
  • Conversations are never used to train external AI models
  • Humans always oversee educational use
